massive dub

this is my asdr project. it is an old school dub/garage song. with a low sub-bass and a soft synth. the synth is the product of a somewhat slow attack and a slower release to get a softer darker sound instead of a jumpy, rave/house synth. with this final product i put a slight but noticeable reeverb on the synth. i also added a second syth that goes up in pitch instead of down.

this is what i have so far... i made a sub-low bassline and a soft, old video game-like synth with some reeverb to give it a darker feeling. this is not the final product im goin to make it about a minute longer and try to pt more dynamics on the synth.

this project we had to create a dubstep song with a two-step drum and a wobble bass. for the bass i used poizone and found a good, old-school, sub-low bass like in the song eyez(vip)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai1bbM8ocSs. but to get the new-school, brostep sound i played around with the cuttoff and lfo filters. for the drums i layered both the snares and kicks but for the snare i added a reverb to add a deeper, darker sound to it. i think i managed to mix both the new brostep sounds with old dubstep sounds like in exothermic reatction-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KandVSZbZAM.

this is my project six redo.

this one im really proud of. the whole project was based on writing chords over a sustained bass note. instead of using just the bass i used a distorted guitar to get kind of a staticy sound to it. for the chords i used a synth that panned back and forth to add depth to the sound like in the song bleed-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyvuc_GjzfU. i went from two notes to one note to two notes. i also added a drum beat that, very slowly, comes up adn becomes louder over a long period of time.

here is my project 6. its probably my favorite creation out of all of my songs. this one has a long bass line with some sustained wobbles added in. by listening to my other dubstep/dnb songs i was able to hear what id did wrong with them and create a song that mixed all of my favorite elements of dubstep and dnb in on. harsh to smooth synths, hard wobbles and simple kick, step- type drum lines. my biggest inspirations for this were- doctor p-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jL34qKX0Ge4 with the constant unsynced wobbles, and soft video game inspired synths.

her is 5a. it has a noise gate to help transfer from the drum ptterns. the biggest influence on this project was deadmau5's cthulu sleeps- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smt28hhJ5kE . it inspred me to make a house/rave song instead of a nother dubstep/dnb. it also gave me the idea to make a simple beat with no tmuch synth in there untill later.
